Ossifying fibroma

General features:
Encapsulated, well defined benign neoplasms of high cellular fibrous connective tissue with varying osteoid, bone, cementum
Can cause bone expansion with facial asymmetry

Types:
Conentional ossifying fibroma: asymptomatic, but may cause facial asymmetry and tooth displacement
Juvenile aggressive ossifying fibroma: locally destructive, tend to recur, but do not metastasize

Imaging:
Lucent, opaque, or mixed an ddemarcated by a thin line of lucency
Bone scans show intense focal increased uptake

Differenatial diagnosis:
Odontoma
Fibrous dysplasia
Vascular lesions

Management:
Enucleation
