Buccal Space

Boundaries:
Immediately anterior to masticator space, masseter and temporalis muscles
Medial boundary: lateral wall of maxillary sinus, buccinator, alveolar ridge
Posterior boundary: masticator space, i.e., lateral and medial pterygoid muscles, masseter, mandible.
Anterolateral boundary: muscles of facial expression, zygoma
Contiguous with infratemporal fossa, submandibular space and parotid space. Separation from masticator and parotid spaces is incomplete

Contents:
Parotid duct
Accessory parotid tissue

Differential diagnosis:
Lymphadenopathy: infection, lmphoma
Minor salivary gland tumor
Hemangioma
Alvelolar soft tissue sarcomas
Lipomas
Odontogenic lesions
Spread from masticator and parotid space lesions
